An exciting afternoon on the river ice
|
Through this page I will endeavour to show the activities of a group of people loosely known as "The Royal George landing party and boat crew". We take our name from the ship"Royal George" that saw so much service during the war of 1812. I will also create links to other Internet resources that feature in some way, the history of Sail. The group "Royal George" (headed up by Victor Suthren) organize and take part in events from the war of 1812 and earlier. One chapter is located in Ottawa, Ontario and the other is located at Penetanguishene on Georgian Bay, also in Ontario. Staging these events help our public to better understand life in that period, both on land and on board the various vessels that were used. |
