Rusty Dog Forge/, blacksmithing by Harry Foster
This was a commission by some friends of ours who are farmers, that wanted some way to leave their boots by the door, and would know that they would be dry when next needed and have no visitors inside as well. They told me roughly what they wanted, mainly something to hold their boots upside down while they were inside the house, and to hold three pair, two for tall boots and one for shorter ones. I came up with this design, using 3/8” round stock, ¼” flat stock, as well the leaves of thinner material. One of our friends being of French heritage, I decided to add the Fleur des Lys design to the ends. To see a detail, follow this link. |
